thank heaven for seven eleven

my title is 7/11's theme phrase..(i don't know the right term for it..haha)

i've worked for 5 days this week and the first 2 days was really hard for me..haha first, i need to wake up at 5am to get ready..it's been 4 years now since i had this routine (MC days) so it was really hard for me and a lot of adjustments from sleeping time, eating time, and had to sacrifice my late night TV shows..haha second, i had to deal with people early in the morning because i admit i'm not a morning person, never was! haha and i guess never will..hahha i try to change my attitude in the morning but it doesn't work..haha i need an hour or few hours to get warmed up to be in the mood..that's why everyday around 7am-9am i'm not infront of the register, i'm walking around stacking stuffs or doing coffee because i don't want to deal with people..hahaha

but for the rest of the week everything was capital F-U-N for me! i have no complains with my job, duties, co-workers, manager, and boss..with costumers, quite few rants about them..and it was a dream come true for me..HAHAHA to be at the register! hahaha (hi cawax and nicole!)

i had an encounter with this old american lady and told me i got no manners when i didn't even open my mouth and did nothing wrong to her, i just grabbed a piece of paper mama was holding because she might give the wrong lotto ticket to that old lady..then all of a sudden the old lady started her own problem..well i was about answer back (my initial and real reaction) but then of course i had to tame myself or else i would make a scene..so i just stepped out of the counter and waited for her to go..

another encounter with a drunk american lady, i can't believe people getting drunk around 1pm..hello don't you think that's too early to be dancing around the street?! hahaha anyway, i knew she was drunk so i was praying that she would go to the other counter (Gabriel's counter) and she did, but then she saw the magazine stand infront of my counter and bought a mag with Pitt on the cover..i had to deal with her - no choice..but then this good mannered friend, Gabriel took charge of my counter and told me to deal with the other costumers online..thanks!

lastly, almost all of the mexican people coming in everyday in the store would talk to me in Spanish! everyday! hello! and i can't understand what they're saying except for the numbers! hahaha then sometimes i'd just find out that Gabriel and this costumer is already talking about me, not until they end the conversation and let my co-worker interpret everything..haha

but all in all i like the people, unity, and system that we have..i wish i could work longer for them and i just wish that i could work with them as my part time..hehe

job and series

finally i've been busy doing something, something fruitful for the past 3 days now..

yep, i'm working!

i'm working at 7/11 Glenoaks, Glendale at "tita" lolita's shop, i (plus mama) got in because uncle referred us just to start and to have some local experience to get our lives starting and luckily she needed 2 people for the N. Hollywood shop (very far) and we're the answer for her and vice versa..the pay is not that big, minimum but really doesn't matter that much..experience means more than the actual payment (well, this goes for me)

i have 2 new friends now, Gabriel (mexican) and Del (indian), 21 and 20 respectively. first day of work their first question was my age and they can't believe that i'm 21! haha they even said i'm not even fit for 18..haha o well, baby face e! hahaha yaaakkk..anyway, they trained us and had the same shift with them til tomorrow, then on friday, we're going to the N.Hollywood shop and know new people..nose bleeding or not, i definitely need to speak in English not a word of Tagalog whenever i'm with them at the register, good thing straight English comes out to me automatically even when i'm talking to the owner (pinoy) and to mama..haha

infairness compliments to MC again and well, to me as well! hahahah feeling! because as always they expected Filipino's to have this certain English accent and they never hear from me, they asked me most of the time if i was born here and since when did i arrive in US..surprise surprise..just this May! hahaha pat on MC's shoulder! hahaha

then tuesday i called Linda Patton, HR recruiter from Kaiser Permanente Hospital, asked her about their decision on the Chart Room Clerk position and it was my first time to hear the phrase "we're hiring you" and gulay it sounds really good..i tell you! i was on my phone smiling and all giggly..haha and quite a few times thanking her because she "sold" me to the area manager and she believed in me! the job would have a nice pay, full-time temp position, i'd be working for them for 3 mos, 40hrs a week..and if ever they'd like me i can stay til almost forever..but if they don't, i guess they wounldn't offer me any job or position after 3 mos..

i'm really thanking God for all these continious blessings He's been showering me and believe me, HE ALWAYS ANSWER PRAYERS IN HIS OWN TIME BUT DEFINITELY, AT THE RIGHT TIME..

*just saw the first episode of Gossip Girl and i like the story and the twisted relationships between the characters..haha i've never read the book but i think i'll like it and i'm starting to like Dan..hahaha Dan = TV series

**too bad Private Practice (Addison's show) premiered the same time with Gossip girl, exactly the same time!!! grrr that's why i have no idea how her show started and how am i going to watch both shows?? hahaha

****always waiting for more of the new season of Grey's Anatomy! and yea, try to listen to Burke's wedding vow..i cried! haha

Mia Tiongson, former MCGS student (was my classmate in CSC and few times in GS) just saw her friendster and she quitted studying at MIT! hahaha (i know i sound mean) but you see, cheering can't save you from the real world..

she's taking up CE and most of my friends are CE majors, so they knew her not because she was a friend or former classmate, but they knew her because they didn't liked her..no one did, except her group of friends i guess..and tsismis goes that even the seniors of the cheering team didn't like at all..

during our freshman year i was telling them that she was my former classmate at MC then after hearing all those stuffs about her, i stopped bragging that she was my my classmate before..hahaha sorry to say but i don't want MC to have a bad impression, including me! hahaha (mean mean mean) studying at MIT and majoring in CE just with the letter E on it, is not a joke! haha so stop acting like the queen bee! hahahaha look what happened!

i had a filing exam last monday, the first part was to write A to Z in capital letters! (yes i know!) hahaha when i first read the instruction i was looking for more, i looked at the other pages but that was the other parts of the exam..haha i thought it was a trick or something but that was it..haha i got 5 parts all perfect (alphabetizing, numerical order, chart code, appt time sched) and i never thought anyone could fail that exam because some really did fail the exam and had to retake it..

now i realized how MC helped me and how proud i am to be a Knoller and a Pinoy! (thank you Lord)

i'm going to have my 3rd screening at Kaiser Permanente Hospital, interview with the manager, i guess this is the last step to get the job..this time i really want to get in! i want this company and i want my job..hahaha although its a full time temp position its worth a try..i just hope i get in! =)

las vegas - reunion

i was out for 4 days haha and i've been speaking english for 4 days...STRAIGHT! hahaha

so magttagalog ako ngayon! haha

went to LAS VEGAS para sa Pagsanjan reunion ni papa, first time na umattend ng mga ganyang events nang magkaroon naman siya ng social life! hahaha

tapos kasama ko ung mga pinsan ko argyle and adrianne then kasama rin si emmanuel (argyle's bf), matt (adrianne's roommate for 7 years, mexican-american) so lahat sila laki sa US, so no choice but to speak english! hahaha nakakaintindi ng tagalo ung mga pinsan ko pero processing muna bago makasagot, c emmanuel naman marunong pa rin lahat kse 12 years old siya ng dumating dito pero may accent na talaga..at since si matt e ibang lahi talaga kailangan talagang magenglish..hahaha

dami kong mga hirit na gusto sabahin pero sympre iba dating kapag tagalog na hirit so never mind nalang! haha kung kayo, mga kaibigan ko kasama ko gets niyo! hahaha

first night kumain kami sa Lawry's Steak house, goodluck sa laki ng steak at over fancy place pero ang mga itsura namin hindi pang-fancy! haha libre ako ng isa sa pinsan ko, di ko lam kung sino nagbayad e! haha kse lahat sila naglabasan ng credit card ako wallet..haha pero sabi nila wag na daw..so THANKS! hahahah

tapos til 3am kami naglilibot at nagsusugal downtown..lahat sila bought their drinks pero ako hindi kse sasabog na talaga stomach ko sa bigat nung steak, hindi ko pa ubos ung steak sa lagay na un! hehehe so ako lang ang nagiisang sober that night just in case maggewang gewang sila dun! haha tapos di ko alam kung bkit kaya pa nila kumain at 2am! gulay! haha tlang full breakfast meal, ako wala suko ako sa kainan! haha

the next day ginising ako around 10am para naman meet ung family friend namin na nagsstay na ngayon sa Las Vegas, buffet time! haha sarap ng food so sige, i lost control! haha chibog kung chibog! hahaha tapos sobrang saya ng kwentuhan kse instead na from "rags to riches" ang mga pinoy dito nagiging "riches to rags"..hahaha nakakaloka talaga especially for them (parents) na sobrang stable ang life sa pinas pero just for the status (just in case), tinahak ang US..haayy

tapos met up again with the "kids" haha tapos nagpunta kami sa Strip kse di pa pala nakikita ni emmanuel ung Strip, sobrang lakad sa ilalim ng araw..tapos since di ako uminom kagabi may magandang lalagyayanan ung Paris ng drinks..so nagorder ako ng Strawberry Daquiri na parang strawberry shake ang dating kase konti lang ung alcohol na nilagay (di kase ako nagbigay ng tip! haha) kse nung si adrianne naglagay ng dollar sa tip box niya dinagdagan pa ng rum ung drink niya! haha

tapos naghotel hopping and casino hopping kami, ako forever nakaupo lang kase di ko feel magsugal..hahaha

tapos si adrianne gusto magbuffet again!! seafood buffet, suko na talaga ako sa buffet kse 2 buffets in a day, kamusta nman un?!??! pero wala mapilit, so cge fine! wag tumanggi! haha pero i ended up eating pa rin ng madami..hahaha tsk tsk i'm a pig! haha

tapos naggate-crash kami sa FORMAL dinner ng reunion, habang mga itsura namin e parang basahan lang ng mga tao dun! haha pero since anak naman kmi special treatment dahil "next gen" daw..hahahaha NO WAY! hahaha infairness madami pala akong kamaganak! haha at finally may kilala na ako na third cousin ko, for the first time! hehe

tapos ung 3 lalake uminom pa nang football long island na sobrang laki talaga..ano baaahh gano kalaki ba tyan niyo?!? ahaha kami ni argyle nasusuka na sa kakatingin sa kanila..hahaha

nagsiuwian na kami ng mga 4am

the next day nagsigisingan kami ng mga 7am para sa pinic event ng reunion..ANG AGA! tapos after nung kainan, nakahanap ako ng perfect spot, para matulog! haha sarap!! since park siya may nakita akong bench tapos under ng shade ng tree tapos mahangin, humiga ako at natulog! haha ginising nalang ako ni adrianne nang makatakas sa picnic..haha

libre ulit, starbucks kse si emmanuel manager ng isang starbucks sa Maryland..he gets 30% discount!! saya!

tapos went back to las vegas club hotel at dun kami nagsitulugan kanya knyang pwesto..haha basta makahiga at makapikit lang ayos na! haha tapos nagising ako ng mga 4pm para bumalik sa hotel namin habang lahat sila ay tulog tapos naghanap ako ng magandang souvenir (ico mayron ka!) small pero naaliw lang ako..hehe

tapos goodbye las vegas hello California!

i lost 9 bucks sa whole 3 day gambling trip..haha di ko na nabawi! haha walang kita! haha
